NJ Teachers Union Boss With $500,000 Salary: “Life’s Not Fair”…

And he’s one of the reasons why.

‘Via Beltway Confidential:

New Jersey Education Association executive director Vincent Giordano first said that “life’s not always fair” when explaining why low-income families shouldn’t get school vouchers to leave failing schools, and now he promises not to be “bullied” into resigning by the governor.

“Life’s not always fair, and I’m sorry about that, but to suggest that we take money from taxpayers and give it to certain taxpayers to use to educate their kids outside of the public school just seems to me to be [wrong]” Girodana said on a local New Jersey Capitol Report while criticizing the idea of school vouchers. He was responding to a questioner who had just observed that without vouchers, “some of these parents,” the Inquirer relates, “can’t afford to take their kids out of failing schools.”

Its just as not fair for everyone who doesn’t have kids in public school, but who pays property tax to have to fund the school system.

Since when do Democrats care about taking other peoples money and using it for all their BS causes? I swear these people don’t even listen to themselves talking.

“When this governor slashed funding for urban schools again last year, ELC sued on behalf of children in those districts. The New Jersey Supreme Court examined the facts and ruled his budget unconstitutional. It ordered him to provide over $500 million to students in urban districts to ensure that New Jersey’s vision for equal educational opportunity remains alive.

“The Supreme Court has never had to order me or NJEA to do the right thing by the students in our urban schools. We’ve been fighting for students in urban schools since Governor Christie was a public school student himself. I helped start and serve on the Board of Directors of the New Jersey Center for Teaching and Learning which is bringing innovative, life changing programs to students in districts across New Jersey, including Newark, Jersey City and Paterson. NJEA has contributed $4 million to this effort over the last several years.

Money spent on public education has little to do with quality, a fact that has been proven over and over numerous times. It’s all about the methodology that is used.

The union bosses, substandard teachers and drone operated PTA(s) if they had their way would bankrupt the state and its taxpayers without blinking an eyelash.

I don’t for one minute envy the job that Christie has to do and the people that he has to deal with…

The failed school systems are that way because of a failure to generate enough property taxes in the area to run them properly. Areas of mostly unemployed, minorities and white trash. They have through ignorance elected all the wrong people in every aspect of local government, schools included. These elected folks then proceed through criminal behavior to rob the school system and local government blind, leaving very little for actual education. Then cut back after cut back until there is but a skeleton left for the children. So what do parasites do once they devour a host? They move on to the next one.. A voucher is just another free one way ticket to the next host. The cycle repeats. When do you just say no?
There needs to be some reward for working hard, amassing wealth and finally being able to afford to separate yourself, if only a little, from the masses of ignorant parasite zombies roaming the American landscape. If not, why bother?

A few rambling notes about NJ schools. My suburban district had to borrow money to expand existing schools, because most of the school taxes we pay go to so called “Abbot Districts”, not to my local schools. Abbott Districts are black holes, where billions disappear w/o trace. Newark’s school budget is 960M, most of it coming from richer communities. Newark however, boasts swimming pools at its high schools & their school athletes have the best equipment & best uniforms.Their principals have nice $4600 ergonomic chairs & school furniture is replaced every other year. School nurses buy Band-aides out of their own money though. It would be much cheaper to cut a check for $3600 to each & every Newark resident, than to pay for their schools. Graduation rates hover around 50%. Still there are places worse than Newark. Camden is another Detroit. In Asbury Park it takes 34K per year to “educate” a student.I paid less for a private, Catholic university 20 years ago.

CC will get a ton of ammo from this idiot’s comments. Today, Giordano refused to quit, re-iterated his “It’s for The Children” mantra & called for CC’s resignation. Time to get popcorn.

One more thing – under corzine and the dem legislature and previous legislatures as well, Newark residents didn’t pay dime one for their schools. The rest of the state paid for them – I am not sure if that is still the case, but it was up to a few years ago for sure. And Newark had a freakin’ corrupt as hell school board taking trips to Brazil with their corrupt mayor at the time, too.
