So the Church or Hospital doesn’t have to include contraception or abortion in the advertised coverage, but the insurance compnay still has to provide it, “free of charge”.

Nothing like splitting hairs . . . does anyone REALLY BELIEVE that the church or any organization is not ultimately paying for it? For a short period of time, I worked as the assistant to the Chief Actuary to a large health insurance company. I can tell you without reservation that the church or religious organization will be paying for it. The insurance policy is not doing it for free without some form of reimbursement. That is how group policies work, and the church or organization will not find those charges in the fee. They are hidden. Give me a break! How stupid does he think we are.

Insurance companies income is from premiums paid by their customers, in this case the church related employers. What “magic money” is an insurance company going to use to pay for the contraceptive and abortion services that does not come from premiums from its customers.
In addition what about large religious enterprises that are self insured and only use an insurance company to process claims and pay providers. Where is the “magic money” insurance companies will use to provide contraceptive and abortion services in this case.

Obama retreats on birth control

President Obama announced a change Friday to the controversial healthcare rule requiring religious organizations like charities and hospitals to include contraception coverage in their healthcare plans.
Obama has come under heavy criticism from the Catholic Church and other religious organizations, Republicans and even some Democrats over the issue. Vice President Biden suggested a day before that a compromise could be worked out.
On Friday, Obama announced employees who work for religious organizations that object to the use of birth control would be able to obtain contraception from the employer’s insurer. He also said employers, such as Catholic hospitals and charities, will not have to pay for the birth control or refer their employees to groups that provide birth control.

1. Why do Catholics pretty consistently vote for anti-Catholic candidates (and many of them are CINO)?

And just how in the hell is this a “compromise”? The insurance company will simply raise the rates for the religious institution to cover the extra anticipated costs. So they still end up paying for it.

No -first mandate- all churches MUST marry homosexuals ( In States where its “legal”) or lose tax exempt status.
If any Catholic goes back and votes for this dictator, I advise him to seek medical help.

Indeed. If this regime has no problem forcing religious groups who are opposed to abortion and contraception PAY FOR IT they would have no trouble forcing them to marry gays. They will say it is a “human rights” violation if they don’t.

A Church-based organization must provide, advise of, direct an employee to, and submit payment for insurance coverage that must provide full coverage for procedures and medications that are specifically against the core tenets the organization stands for.
Does this same organization have the right to NOT hire anybody that goes against its core tenets? Then they could get an exclusion in the policy. Oh, wait, guess not in a SINGLE PAYER system.
