AP Report: Obama Considering Slashing U.S. Nuclear Force By Up To 80%…
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Obama administration is weighing options for sharp new cuts to the U.S. nuclear force, including a reduction of up to 80 percent in the number of deployed weapons, The Associated Press has learned.
Even the most modest option now under consideration would be an historic and politically bold disarmament step in a presidential election year, although the plan is in line with President Barack Obama’s 2009 pledge to pursue the elimination of nuclear weapons.
No final decision has been made, but the administration is considering at least three options for lower total numbers of deployed strategic nuclear weapons cutting to around 1,000 to 1,100, 700 to 800, or 300 to 400, according to a former government official and a congressional staffer. Both spoke on condition of anonymity in order to reveal internal administration deliberations.
The potential cuts would be from a current treaty limit of 1,550 deployed strategic warheads.
Obama has often cited his desire to seek lower levels of nuclear weapons, but specific options for a further round of cuts had been kept under wraps until the AP learned of the three options now on the table.

Pay Attention!
Wars of Independence (also known as Guerilla Warfare, or GW) are the result of careful and thoughtful moves, it is not rash and quick. There are 3 distinct phases to any GW operation and they are not time dependent, but rather strength dependent.
Phase 1, the Latent or Incipient Phase.
This phase is characterized by recruitment of like minded individuals, the acquisition/collection of tools of the trade and development of intelligence of the enemy. Very little direct, or possibly no direct actions are taken during this phase. The primary mission of this phase is the development of cells of people who serve as trainers/messengers to carry the word. Cells should be independent of other cells and cell members should be somewhat isolated from cell members of other cells. Security is the key here; don’t make yourself a target.
Phase 2, Movement Phase.
During this phase, very small direct actions are taken against the enemy. Only soft targets (remote and few enemy personnel) should be considered. Terrorism is a very helpful tool during this phase, but only against the enemy. Actions taken in this phase should be two-fold; psychological and morale builders. Psychological to the enemy that he can be struck down without warning in remote locations, this will help to limit his movement in remote areas thus ceding them over to the guerilla force. Secondly, it shows the local populace in general the enemy is vulnerable and often impotent.
Phase 3, Open Phase.
This phase only takes place when the guerilla forces are of sufficient strength to take on larger targets and WIN. No actions should be taken in vain, but rather total victory. Once this phase begins, the GW forces should have at least 80% of the populace supporting; either directly or in a material support role. You start with smaller targets and then work toward larger targets and finally the prize.
Many successful guerilla warfare experts have been Americans. Francis Marion during the Revolutionary War, Nathan Bedford Forrest and William Quantrill during the Civil War, William “Wild Bill” Donovan during WWII and the US Army Special Forces during Viet Nam. In reality our country was founded on guerilla warfare and the spirit still exists.
So if you want to spend some quality time doing something about the problem, get organized. Yes, vote in November by all means but ready yourselves for a worst case scenario. Develop a survival plan, develop a bug-out plan develop a communications network, develop a cell of people you can trust. Strength is everything and patience is a virtue.
And one little note about terrorism (my favorite subject); it works very well on the enemy – gets in their heads and scrambles their brains. True story here; good bud of mine was on a 3 man sniper team in Africa a few years back. The team would sneak to a hide site in a hill above the enemy compound before daybreak. When the enemy assembled a patrol to go outside their wire, the sniper shot the 3rd man in line. After two days of this, the enemy’s morale went to hell.
OK, now we all get to see just how insane the rest of the elected Officials are in Congress, that is if they are going to go along with this…
