Obama Departs For Two-Day West Coast Trip . . . Will Hit Eight Campaign Fundraisers…

(SF Gate) — President Barack Obama’s two day trip to California starting Wednesday is another whirlwind 2012 campaign fundraising tour that should take in a hefty haul: it includes a tony Beverly Hills dinner hosted by comedian Will Ferrell, a Los Angeles reception featuring the Foo Fighters, and a San Francisco performance by Chris Cornell.
The California tour includes no public events — but three San Francisco fundraisers — two of them exclusive, intimate $38,500 per person dinners, campaign sources say.
*Wednesday:
*President Obama on Wednesday “will deliver remarks at an outdoor fundraising reception with 1,000 supporters at a private residence in Los Angeles, CA.” The reception will feature a musical performance by the Foo Fighters. There were limited Gen44 tickets available for $250, with general admission tickets at $500.
*Wednesday evening, the President will attend a fundraising dinner at the same private residence with approximately 80 people. Tickets for that event cost $35,800.
Proceeds from both events will go to Obama Victory Fund, a joint fundraising committee authorized by Obama for America and the Democratic National Committee.*Thursday schedule:
*President Obama will attend a fundraising luncheon with 125 supporters at a private residence in Corona Del Mar, CA. Tickets for this event start at $2,500.
*On Thursday afternoon, the President will attend a small fundraiser with approximately 20 supporters at the Mark Hopkins Intercontinental Hotel in San Francisco, CA. Tickets for this event cost $35,800 (per person).
*On Thursday evening, he will attend a fundraising dinner with 70 supporters at a private residence in San Francisco, with tickets at $35,800 per person. That is followed by a fundraising reception at the Nob Hill Masonic Center attended by 2,500 people that will feature a musical performance by Chris Cornell. Tickets for the dinner cost $35,800 (per person). Tickets for the Nob Hill reception start at $100. All proceeds from Thursday’s events will go to Obama Victory Fund, a joint fundraising committee authorized by Obama for America and the Democratic National Committee.
When the President leaves San Francisco on Friday, he heads off to Washington State, where he will attend a fundraising luncheon with 65 people at a private residence in Medina, WA. Natalie Cole will perform. Tickets for this event are $17,900.
The President will then deliver remarks at a fundraising reception attended by 450 at the Westin Bellevue in Bellevue, WA, featuring a musical performance by Head and the Heart. Tickets for this event start at $1,000.

I understand all presidents have held fundraisers in conjunction with ‘official’ business. But it looks like this guy isn’t even trying to hide it anymore.
@ Bea -This president doesn’t DO any business, so has nothing TO hide.
He’s been in campaign mode, to some degree, since 2008. He campaigned for stimulus, campaigned for Healthcare, and is campaigning now as he has for the last three years- for re-election. It’s what he DOES, and what he does best. It’s a lot like community organizing, with his job as the goal.
So, when he gets his ass handed to him in November, where does all this money end up?
