Report: Iran Steps Up Support For Assad, Revolutionary Guards And Hezbollah Operatives Assisting Army Units Loyal To Regime…

(Ynet) — Iran has significantly increased its involvement in Syria over the past few days, Ynet learned Monday.

The presence of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards and Hezbollah operatives assisting Syrian President Bashar Assad’s in his brutal crackdown of protesters now number in the high hundreds; while the Arab League said that it will not supply the rebels with arms unless the bloodshed comes to a halt.

The majority of Iranian and Hezbollah operatives in Syria supply Assad’s army with intelligence and train the Damascus forces on weapons’ maintenance and reconnaissance. A smaller group of operatives is involved in the actual fighting.

Tehran has also increased the financial assistance it lends Damascus. It also maintains regular flights to the Syrian capital — a practice Arab League members have suspended due to the escalating violence.

Iran’s financial aid is one of Assad’s lifelines, as it keeps the middle class in Damascus and Halab (Aleppo) from rising against him as well.

The Islamic Republic’s decision to bolster ties with Syria at a time when Tehran has to deal with growing international sanctions, imposed on it over its refusal to suspend its nuclear program, indicates that the ayatollah’s regime believes Assad and his government can survive the uprising.

Iran is hedging their bets and need an ally against Egypt and Libya.

So tell me: if I was president, and Iran and the rest of the raghead nations found out I had the Special Forces and Academi (formerly known as Blackwater) in Egypt, fighting off and killing forces that were trying to kill Copts, as well as funding Copts in their efforts to defend themselves through force of arms, what would THEIR reaction be?

This will cost Iran a lot of money while the sanctions squeeze their pathetic economy. Perhaps the Iranians will take another shot at their own freedom without the theocrats in charge.

The Middle East is starting to resemble one of those old cartoon fights where all you see is a whirling cloud of dust and an occasional arm, leg or hand. It’s really confusing to me, do we have a dog in this hunt? The MB is supporting the ‘rebels’, Al Quaida is supporting the ‘rebels’, Iran is supporting Assad. I guess I’ll look at it like I did the Super Bowl, hated both teams but I watched ’cause I knew a team I hated was gonna lose.

O has cooked up one hell of a stew to paraphrase Hitler.
I think “the rebels” are going to go after SA to fund the jihad and prevent mass starvation. All the bamster’s aid cannot fund that kind of effort.
If that should happen I’m in the market for a Prius for sure.

And all the while this goes on the U.S. and the Israelis are moving forward covertly to set assets in place for action against Iran.

    Pass the popcorn.

Possible U.S. military preparations to assist Israel coincide with the revelation by similar sources that the Israelis have dispatched a number of naval vessels under cover into the Arabian Sea and that they are moving into its northern regions just off of Iran.

According to the U.S. military sources, the Israeli vessels were positioned at the mouth of the Gulf of Oman which leads to the Strait of Hormuz.

Placement of the covert naval vessels in the northern Arabian Sea allows Israel to use them as a standoff C4ISR, or Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance platform.

This would give the Israelis the capability of not only intelligence-gathering on Iranian communications of its missile and air defense activities but also to coordinate attacks employing jet fighters, missiles and missile-carrying submarines in the event Israeli forces get the order to strike Iran’s nuclear facilities.

We may not have to lift a finger. The Muslim Brotherhood may take offense that Persians are trying to throw their weight around. Iran could attack Saudi Arabia. Mix a nuke in this, and frankly, things get real ugly.

I wish them the best of luck with peace, but I don’t think it is likely to break out any time soon.

    Oh look, Zionists!

We can only hope that there are Iranians who want regime change and are willing to supply intel about what they and their neighbors are doing to the Israelis. Imanutjob and the Ayatollah don’t have alot of friends. When the people start to go hungry the revolution will boil. These are Persians not Arabs. Don’t expect Al Quaida to show up for this fight. Of course all bets change if Iran is dumb enough to rattle the saber at Israel one too many times.

Not hundreds, 15 thousand Iranian quds zealot “soldiers” and an unknown number of from it’s hez puppet

otherwise 15 thousand plus practiced thugs who have no problem shooting down unarmed people.

In fact it likely gives them a tingle

Are the rebels Al queda? Does it really matter, if Iran and Hez are desperate to
crush them, we should prevent them being crushed. The Lebanese Civil War
lasted 15 years, with a little effort we could make this one last 25 or 30.
