Department of Energy Secretary Steven Chu may have personally intervened in a $1.4 billion partial loan guarantee in an effort to help floundering solar company Solyndra, Republicans on the House Energy and Commerce Committee alleged in a letter Friday.
Committee Republicans opened a new front in their ongoing investigation of the Solyndra scandal in a letter to Chu on Friday, requesting documents and emails regarding a $1.4 billion loan to a solar project that was to be supplied equipment by Solyndra.
Prologis, an industrial real-estate company, received a partial loan guarantee in June 2011 to install solar panels on its commercial facility rooftops. The committee said the sole supplier of those panels would have been Solyndra, which had also received a $535 million loan guarantee from the Energy Department.

Energy Secretary Steven Chu has based his entire energy policy on this single pivot point, “Somehow we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe”. At the time he made the statement prices in Europe were seven to eight dollars a gallon.

It is a good Wall Street Journal article and well worth the read, especially with 3 years of data since the article was written to be able to correlate intent and action with results.
Even at the heyday of “yes we can” they recognized the only possible way to sell their green energy snake oil was to destroy every other viable option. By the way, Chu is also the spear point of the green energy loan scandals that are exploding as we speak. Chu is very vulnerable and a very important person to Obama, he is ripe for the picking right now if the Republicans would stop playing patty cake in the corner and get to the business of saving our country.

We need to get a full disclosure accounting of each democratic billionaire’s enviro-greenie company that the US government, under the direction of Presbo is “investing” in. The one way we would have a shot of getting some of our money back would be to also buy up a bunch of stock in those same companies. And then sell short.
