Chevy Volt Fails To Make List of Top 12 “Greenest Vehicles” For 2012…
Why exactly are taxpayers shelling out $10,000 per car?

Wonder how they are figuring MPG on those two near the top that don’t run on gas. Because those MPG seem pretty crap.
Look at number two; “Honda Civic NATURAL GAS”
What an easy way to ‘Go Green’. Had our own natural gas supply not threatened the future fortunes of all Obama’s friends (who own the wind and solar projects), we could take a relatively painless step towards ‘Clean Power’.
.
LOL! A Toyota with a 2.5 liter engine beats out a Volt with a 1.4 liter mill!!!
Hilarious!
A car at half the price and no subsidy runs rings around the best government money can buy!
We are so screwed!
…failed to make the greenest list? Did they include the $10,000 kick back from the government? Cash is green, after all….
Elitist feel good B.S. Buy a subaru if you want small, cheap to keep versatile. Made in USA by non union Americans.
No, I do not work for them.

Interesting. The government made car is not on the list. I am shocked. I thought the government did everything better than the private sector.
Also note how many use a ‘CVT’ transmission.
You can make a full size car get great gas mileage with a ‘Continuously Variable Transmission’. The solution to our consuming habits is not the fuel we choose to use. The secret to efficiency is the manner in which we use that fuel.
These Green idiots keep trying to romanticize the process. The keep trying to force reality to conform to a Hollywood script.
Daddy bought me a volt and I love it….
The lemon of the 21st century the Volt
Actually the real figure based on sales of the Chevy Volt is closer to $250,000 per vehicle.
Its funny how efficient a vehicle can be when its not dragging around a ton of batterys.
What, Ford Raptor didnt make the list?
I just laugh every time I see today’s econo boxes being touted.
I drive an ancient 1982 Honda Civic 1500 automatic that gets 35mpg in mixed driving. I also have a 1983 Honda Civic 1300 FE that gets over 40mpg in the city and well into the mid 50mpg range on the highway.
So, I gotta ask… How far have we come?
Soil-in-drah anyone?
If the govt wants more fuel efficient cars on the road why not put the $10K on small cars like a chevy cruze ?? This way you would get a lot of old cars off of the road that are not fuel efficient and replace them with 40 MPG cars as a lot of middle Americans could afford a new car. How many Volts do you think the average American can afford.
Where we live 4 wheel drive is essential. Piss off Barry, each according to their needs.
Sounds like we need another “Cash-for-Clunkers” program. Wait…that didn’t work the first time?
I haven’t seen any Cheby Voltrons on the road in SC.
I’ll have to look for a Subaru the next time. Although I like (very much) my current dealer, and their service department is impeccable.
I dont think Ive ever seen a conservative in a subaru….
….seems like they are always covered with lesbian stickers….
Obama’s Edsel…….
Isn’t it interesting that you can rearrange the letters in Volt and it spells worthless union built pos?
Is this a Neonazi website, or what? Sure looks like it. Never see so many morons in one thread.
Even the Dupe’s aren’t buying the revolting Volt.
I know the prominent Republicans are continuing their long tradition of bending over and giving their opposition a broom handle, but with the media pouring its efforts (and rather successfully) into making the Republican presidental hopefuls look like religious nutcases, it would be smart of them to point out that no religion is more intolerant, hostile towards science, and anti-intellectual than environmentalism.
Of course, we all know Republicans don’t have anything between the legs so we will never see that happen, but it sure would be nice.
Steve
Wow, that was such a thought out insult and dare to Republicans all in one. I can clearly see wht is between your legs…..your head. I cant believe they would not take your advice.
I do agree that they are killing themselves again this election cycle by going as hard right as they can, which is foolish if they intend on winning.
We have a Democrat controlled senate that is holding up a lot, which usually is not a bad thing. My point is that we need someone who can build consensus with moderate Democrats and Independents and you don’t do that by talking about abortion and religion. The third rail for the GOP candidate.
The GOP generally loves to talk about Reagen, but they do not talk about what he did best…..build consensus. He was in my opinon very moderate and argumentatively did some decidedly Democrat things legislatively. I believe Romney could be similar.
Instead the GOP is making sure that we lose the Executive Branch and the Senate, good job!!
Cliberg, no you were looking for Media Matters, that is a whole different site. Good luck with the hate and hypocrisy.
