Hugo Chavez: “I will live! I will live!”
Not for long.
CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) — For someone who’s ill, President Hugo Chavez didn’t show it Thursday as he launched into full-blown campaign mode on his last day in Venezuela before flying to Cuba for cancer surgery.
Chavez, who is running for re-election this year, spoke for more than four hours on a folksy, upbeat broadcast, pausing only so supporters could send greetings, messages of encouragement and reports on home construction and new soy plantations from around the country.
At one point, an apple-cheeked boy clad in the red of Chavez’s socialist political movement appeared via a video feed from the western city of Maracaibo and recited a poem about the president’s illness and how he will overcome it.
Chavez, 57, invoked the revolutionary language of both Cuba and his own country, and vowed to see the campaign through even after revelations of his cancer’s comeback cast his health and stamina in doubt.
“I will live! I will live!” cried a bespectacled Chavez, pounding the table in a hall in the Miraflores government palace during the live broadcast from a hall in the Miraflores government palace.
The president took over the national airwaves hours after lawmakers granted him permission to absent himself from the country while he has a potentially cancerous tumor surgically removed, a formality required by the constitution.
He said he would leave Friday and undergo surgery early next week to remove the growth, described as about an inch (2 centimeters) in diameter located in the same area where Chavez had a baseball-size malignant tumor taken out last year.

Barack Obama Takes Christ Out of St. Patrick’s Day

Barack Obama is selling T-shirts for St. Patrick’s Day at his campaign website.
But as The Blaze reported, Team Obama screwed up on the Irish symbol:
Less than one month out from St. Patrick’s Day, President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign seems to be hoping to cash in on supporters’ Irish pride with some special campaign merchandise: “O’Bama” T-shirts and pint glasses.
“Gear up for Saint Patrick’s Day in style with this fun O’Bama tee,” the Obama online campaign store says.
But the merchandise — $30 for the T-shirt and $25 for the two-glass set — isn’t sitting well with everyone: The O’Bama design includes a large four-leaf clover, which is different from the three-leaf shamrock, the actual symbol of Ireland.
But there’s more…
Anyone who went to Catholic school and celebrated St. Patrick’s Day as a child knows the story behind the three-leaf clover or shamrock.
Patrick was born in Roman Britain. When he was about sixteen he was captured by Irish raiders and taken as a slave to Ireland, where he lived for six years before escaping and returning to his family. He entered the church, as his father and grandfather had before him, becoming a deacon and a bishop. He later returned to Ireland as a missionary, working in the north and west of the island. Legend credits Patrick with teaching the Irish about the concept of the Trinity by showing people the shamrock, a 3-leaved clover, using it to highlight the Christian belief of ‘three divine persons in the one God’. St. Patrick died in 493, and by the eighth century he had become the patron saint of Ireland.
The shamrock is representative of the Holy Trinity. Obviously, this was lost on the Obama Administration.
At his website Obama took Christ out of St. Patrick’s Day.

If Chavez does indeed live it will only be because of the advancements made possible by democratic societies and the free market (capitalism) research that has provided life-saving medicine and medical advancements, mostly from the Big Satan and little Satan.
So many wonderful inventions are a result of NASA research. Will the Russians and/or Chinese continue in that tradition and more importantly, will they share it with the rest of the world?
