Occupy Denver To Hold “Fuck The Police” Rally

As Nancy Pelosi would say, “God bless them.”

Via Denver News:

Although it is not a general assembly-sanctioned event, select members of Occupy Denver, the Internet collective Anonymous and “an array of other activists” are spreading word online of their first combined “Fuck the Police” march. Scheduled for this Saturday, the event has the potential to become a regular feature in the local movement, pending a successful turnout rate this weekend.

But its word choice — and the occasionally rocky relationship between Denver’s police and protesters — make it a tough issue for the larger body to sign off on.

In other occupations, similar anti-police events have become more commonplace. Occupy Oakland, for example, stages regular “Fuck the Police” marches.

This Saturday, the first Denver version will began at 7 p.m. at the D&F Tower at 16th and Arapahoe as part of a national push spread by Anonymous to build similar simultaneous events in several cities.

What Rufus said is what scares the holy shit out of us here. What are people going to do if this happens all across the fruited plains?

On the other hand, if you live where this is not a possibility, or if you can work to make sure the police are not flipped, now would be a time to stop it before OWS gets down and dirty this spring and summer.

AND be sure to thank law enforcement for what they are doing. These guys get paid little, and today are having to be stretched thin, and facing OWS scum of the earth. Most of them see the way the world is spinning, and they worry about their families. Outside of our military members, law enforcement in this country is made up of some brave folks, who volunteer to protect our peaceful lives, and often without so much as a thanks from us. God help them in this year of hell 2012.

As to this charming bunch of losers, people, people, people, if you do not have at least 30 days worth of food or water in your homes, get busy, and I mean shake a leg. Take these people at their words. They look absolutely like the largest collection of morons outside of D.C., and most are, but they have overlords that plan on having these guys get real nasty this spring and summer. I plead with you all to be ready for whatever between now, and at least 6 months after the 2012 elections. At least.

Slang-your interpretation of Liberalism does not fit the bill for what progressive liberalism has morphed into, intolerance and hatred. Are you freaking blind as to the true inability of the progressive liberals to accept that most Americans do not buy their bullshit nor desire a government to take care of them rather than taking care of themselves? Man does not rule over nature he has simply mastered it in many ways but the natural hierarchy of rank and file is everywhere about us, that is a fundamental of the natural progression of life that surrounds us. We are by no means all equal, we should be all treated equally under the law yet look at Congress or Hollywood and tell me we are, there will always be stratification in society and government will never be perfected for the nature of man will never allow it…

  41. Justin says:
    February 25, 2012 at 2:16 pm

Envy of a tea party funded by the 1%? Why would we envy that when that is exactly the kind of nonsense were protesting?
A TRUE grass roots movement is strengthened by the people’s concerns, and is natural and spontaneous. Sure, Adbusters and Anonymous helped raise awareness. But our movement is not funded by anybody, not even Soros. All that would do is allow them to control the path of the movement with their influence and power, as well as making it a true leftists movement. Most of us are nonpartisan, so why would we want that? And why would we want to form another Tea Party type movement that doesn’t listen to the demands of the majority, due to complete control of your elites? Believe me, I don’t envy that whatsoever, that’s the kind of crap that disgusts me to be honest.
And Monster Zero, what about that trucker in Kansas recently that had a bunch of homemade explosives in his truck, bigoted stickers all over it and hated immigrants? Those are the same racist kind of people that are in the Tea Party all the time. Don’t deny it, A3P alone says that one of their major hotspots for handing out flyers is Tea Party movements, in order to raise awareness about the change of ‘white america’. It’s disgusting that you can try and justify having racists and bigots in your mediocre movement, while striking down on isolated crimes that have happened in a movement so big in proportion, that those kind of things are unavoidable. Besides, a REAL grass roots movement is expected to be somewhat disorganized, not controlled and funded by Koch Brothers. It’s time that the Tea Party (and conservatives) opened their eyes, and got with the times. Stop trying to segregate different races with your beliefs, as well as religions (especially as of lately….trying to label all muslims as radical Islamists when the majority of them don’t preach radical Islam and want true democracy like us, way to divide the world some more), stop all this “Let’s go back in time for women” crap like the Blunt Amendment and ‘We are all Catholic’s now’, and stop trying to isolate gay people in this country. When you guys understand what unity means, then you will finally open your bigoted, racist eyes.

You are the one who mentioned the Tea Parties were “astroturfed”.

You mean OWS was entirely spontaneous? Like the “protesters” who were paid $60/day to yell whatever they were directed at the CPAC meeting? Or like the day laborers who were paid about $10/hr to be pretend carpenters picketing during a union strike? Or the other group of day laborers who were paid below minimum wage to protest and block the ports up in Washington and Oregon?

You pretend to support “common people”, yet the port blockades prevented hundreds of innocent workers from earning wages so they could put food on their tables for their families. How about the hypocrisy of OWS bitching about contraception and then not reporting or allow the police to investigate rape and molestation that occurred at OWS protest sites? And please do tell us just how many arrests there were for violence at Tea Party events? How many Tea Party protesters were diagnosed with drug-resistant tuberculosis and how many sexually transmitted diseases were spread at Tea Party events? Oh’ that’s right…they didn’t occupy anything and they cleaned up after themselves and acted respectably towards the police.

As for “illiterate”, the term is try TO blame–not try AND blame. Thank you for outing yourself as the hypocritical, illiterate waste of skin that you are.

What Are Leftists? By: John J. Ray
    FrontPageMagazine.com | Thursday, June 20, 2002

    http://archive.frontpagemag.com/readArticle.aspx?ARTID=24245

My basic proposal, then, is that most (but not all) Leftists/liberals are motivated by strong ego needs

    – needs for power, attention, praise and fame.

And in the USA and other developed countries they satisfy this need by advocating large changes in the society around them — thus drawing attention to themselves and hopefully causing themselves to be seen as wise, innovative, caring etc.

We will see below why one of the most consistent themes to emerge from the Leftist’s love of change is the claimed need for “equality”.

And the belief in “equality” also tends to lead to support for such things as redistribution of wealth generally, heavily “progressive” income taxes, inheritance taxes, foreign aid, feminism, gay rights and socialized medicine.

Again for reasons explored below, Leftists also tend to oppose religion and the churches and this in turn tends to mean that they favour abortion and oppose or obstruct religious schooling in various ways.

    http://archive.frontpagemag.com/readArticle.aspx?ARTID=24245

a little history: The Bolshevik revolution of 1917 under Lenin has had immense significance for politics since then but there were also three prior political revolutions that still have some modern lessons, The English revolution of 1642, The American revolution of 1776 and the French revolution of 1789.

The British and American revolutions were essentially “conservative” revolutions designed to preserve traditional democratic rights and liberties and remove tyrannies but the French revolution was very different:

The French revolution is probably the earliest clear example of Leftism at work — a vast social change that attempted to destroy all that went before it (even the traditional calendar!) and replace traditional arrangements by totally new ones that were grounded only in theory and which in fact very rapidly turned out to constitute a new and terrifying tyranny.

Certainly the French revolution is the earliest clear example of high-minded ideals being used in some almost incomprehensible way as an excuse for a long and bloodthirsty reign of terror

    – a reign of terror that consumed not only the enemies but also many of the friends of the revolution.

And “equality” was of course one of those high-minded ideals.

The French revolutionaries would appear to have the distinction of being the first to show that in some mysterious way one can at the same time believe in equality and practice tyranny!

And, in an omen of Lenin and Stalin to come,

that great child of the revolution, Napoleon,

saw no contradiction in running a vicious police state while at the same time going to the trouble of actually enshrining in law the principle that all men are equal!!

So why this obsession with equality?

Of all the things that their “equality” doctrine enables them to attack and perhaps change, nothing is more attractive to the Leftist than the rationale the doctrine offers for attacking the existing power structures, authorities, hierarchies and centres of influence that already exist in society.

In the name of bringing about equality, Leftists get an excuse to tear down the whole existing structure of society — something that they need to do to give themselves any chance of fulfilling their dream of taking over all power for themselves.

It is the fact that he/she is not in charge of everything that the Leftist most of all wants to change. So “all men are equal” is a very handy doctrine indeed for the Leftist.

    New Leftist Directions

    http://archive.frontpagemag.com/readArticle.aspx?ARTID=24245

The demise of the Soviet Union left a large gap in what Leftists could advocate.

Nobody now believes in the old Leftist mantra that the government should “own the means of production” (i.e. run businesses).

This has by and large simply meant a redirection of the Leftist’s energies into other well-established equality-seeking causes — such as anti-racism, radical feminism and treating criminals as simple unfortunates who can be set on the right path with a bit more “education” (Criminals are equal too, it seems).

(((((((( ask Van Jones of the Tides Foundation about this )))))))))

There has been an attempt, in other words, to move the focus of agitation away from economic reform towards social reform.

As well as such old ideas, however, there have also arisen various new foci for Leftist discontent and agitation.

One of these is the “political correctness” movement. This movement functions in two major ways: It attempts to change the way we think about less fortunate groups in the world by altering the words we use to describe them,

and, in good Nazi bookburning fashion, it also attempts simply to suppress knowledge and debate.

How heavily the Leftist obsession with equality (and their consequent Procrustean unwillingness to handle the complexities of the real world) influences the political correctness movement can perhaps be seen most clearly in the actions of a British welfare agency who banned a job advertisement because it discriminated against UNFRIENDLY PEOPLE!

A company placed the advertisement looking for a “friendly person” for a catering-related job but the local Job Centre rejected it because they said it “may discriminate against certain applicants”. See the Bolton Evening News of June 7th., 2002.

Less of a laughing matter is the way political correctness can actually endanger lives. Take, for instance, the case of a UK surgeon reported in the UK Daily Telegraph of July 23rd, 2002 who had to stop in the middle of surgery because the immigrant nurses employed by Britain’s cash-strapped National Health Service could not understand enough English to follow his instructions.

He filed a complaint claiming that patient’s lives were being put at risk by nurses who do not understand English.

The immediate result? A threat of disciplinary action against the surgeon for racism!

In addition to their devotion to “political correctness”, Leftists have also forged alliances with the “Green” movement to the point where Reds and Greens are often largely the same people.

Even mainstream Leftist politicians see environmentalism as something of a life-saver for themselves. As Robin Cook, a senior member of the British Labour party put it in “The Observer” of October 8th, 1989:

“The new environmental concerns could put Labour’s ideology back in business. The politics of the environment are the politics of intervention — firmer regulation, tighter planning and collective co-operation.”

No ambiguity there about what a Leftist wants.

Hey Justin, Are you one of those lefty idealogues who believes in diversity, wealth redistribution, and economic justice? Or do you just tool around in your Prios with bumper stickers like “CoExIsT” while accepting donated corporate goods while you protest against them ?

The pure hypocrisy is funny. But rage against the machine is a band. The ideology doesn’t work when it’s a planned radical-style movement backed by Soros and the Unions.

No matter now…the jig is up. There are more causes than people who show up for the sake of being seen, having something/anything to do.

Do something useful, Justin…..read the U.S. Constitution and the other Founding documents and learn what America is about. You might need those useful ideals when you decide to grow up.

    @Justin

says the guy who’s entire ows “grassroots movement” … is all white

  61. Justin says:
    February 25, 2012 at 5:12 pm

The United States is headed for a plutocratic dystopia where a few gated communities sit like islands amidst a sea of bitterness, misery, and want.

    Why?

Because the country is running on lies, myths, deceptions and distractions. Not surprisingly, they aren’t working very well for us.

Let’s run through a few of the most destructive lies and myths.

Corporations and the uber rich are the job creators: Uh, no. Corporations are sitting on over $2 trillion dollars in un-invested profits. What jobs they are creating are in China and other countries – which, by the way, engaged in huge government funded stimulus programs when the Great Recession first hit. Which brings us to our next myth…

Government can’t create jobs: This particular whopper is just plain counterfactual. Obama’s much maligned stimulus program created some 3 million jobs and would have created more if he hadn’t caved to Republicans and limited its size and agreed to put 40% of it into unproductive tax cuts. In short, government does create jobs – no one else can or will when there’s not enough consumer demand to justify corporate expansion. And as long as the middle class’s wealth is getting siphoned off by the 1%, there will not be enough demand.

The deficit is our main problem, therefore we need an austerity budget: The story line from deficit hawks is that a deficit will spook bond markets and make it difficult for the US to borrow. But that hasn’t happened. In fact, demand is so high for our bonds, we’re able to borrow at record low interest rates. And while folks are practically lining up to buy our debt instruments, they’re eschewing investments in countries which instituted austerity plans. Yet the Obama Administration continues to join with the Republicans in insane hand wringing over deficits. Yes, we must bring down the deficit eventually, but not in the midst of a jobs crisis. In the long term, there are two ways to cut the deficit: grow our way out of it, or cut spending to the bone, and face a stagnating economy for the foreseeable future. If we’re to avoid the latter, right now we need government investment to stimulate growth.

Republicans actually care about deficits: Let’s put a stake in the heart of this one right now. Reagan and the two Bushes created more than 66% of the country’s debt — an amount equal to more than twice as much as all other President’s combined (including Obama). Did you hear any complaints while this record breaking debt was being wracked up? Not a word. Clinton, it’s worth remembering, had a surplus.

Republicans favor small government: In fact, the size of government exploded under Reagan and Bush II, and we didn’t hear a peep out of Republicans. In the last thirty years, only Clinton reduced the size of government significantly, and he did so while declaring “the era of big government” to be over. What they really favor is weak government, which brings us to …

Regulations stifle the economy; deregulation unleashes economic growth: The fact is, laissez-faire, free market policies have failed miserably every time they’ve been tried. They have a nasty habit of causing grotesque income inequalities, huge market volatility and severe financial collapses. In fact, the Great Recession we are now climbing out of should have been strike 3 for the Free Marketeers. Strike 1 was the Panic of 1893 and the depression which followed it. Strike 2 was the Great Depression of the 30’s. In all three cases, these collapses were preceded by conservative, laissez-faire policies featuring deregulation, low taxes and weak governments.

Three tries – each resulting in severe income inequality and the catastrophic economic meltdowns they inevitably cause. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out this strategy doesn’t work.

Climate Change is “just a theory” and we can’t afford to address it: Leaving aside the fact that in the pantheon of science, “theories” are reserved for issues that are about as certain as the scientific method allows, the scientific consensus on global warming is as strong as it gets. And we know that the costs of not acting to prevent it are going to be far more than the cost of taking action, and it goes up with each year we delay. Thanks to Republican denial, Democratic complicity and press malfeasance, we’re literally sleepwalking into the worst catastrophe the human race has ever faced.

Republicans want to protect your freedom. Except when they want to tell you who you can sleep with, who you can marry, whether or not you can use birth control; when and whether you can choose to die; or when they want to tap your phone or detain you without due process, of course.

So why is it that these myths and lies – so easily disproven – persist. Indeed, why have they become conventional wisdom for many Americans, and why do they shape the national debate?

Here’s where the Democrats, distractions and the press’s malfeasance comes in.

Republicans throw up a lot of flack to keep people from focusing on the fact that they’re basically getting screwed by the 1%. Red meat issues like gay marriage, abortion and contraception, family values, and immigration do their part. Bald-faced lies like “Obama apologizes for America,” or he was born in Kenya contribute as well. But it only works because Democrats are too wimpy – or too complicit – to confront this bait-and-switch bullshit.

It doesn’t help that Democrats are feeding at the same corporate trough. No doubt that explains why they act like the class cowards and cringe in the last stall in the bathroom every time one of these faux issues get raised.

But the real culprit is the press – they’ve simply abrogated their responsibility to give people accurate, truthful information. Several weeks ago, New York Times “reader’s representative” Andy Brisbane actually asked readers whether reporters should be concerned with the truth. Honestly. He did.

We are now stuck with a media that puts “balance” or “objectivity” before truth. As Eric Sevareid said:

“Our rigid formulae of so-called objectivity … have given the lie the same prominence and impact that truth is given; they have elevated the influence of fools to that of wise men; the ignorant to the level of the learned; the evil to the level of the good.”

This is more true today than it was then. And without a press devoted to honesty and accuracy, our ship of state runs on yarns, myths and the modern day equivalent of “bread and circuses,” and we are at the mercy of the evil, the foolish and the ignorant.

As long as that’s the case, the whims of the 1% will rule and your pay will continue to erode, or your job will exported to China or India or Honduras or anywhere the plutocrats are free to exploit workers and the environment. Or to places like Germany, where they don’t buy into the myths, and an active government role assures high-wage jobs and general prosperity.

At the end of the day, trying to run a country according to the rules of fantasy island isn’t a recipe for success. But it does serve the interests of the 1%.

Trust me Will, I highly encourage that advice to people like you. That is the only way society will get better.
Also, a little more facts for you guys….Soros not only funds the Tide foundation, but he also has a connection with Ron Paul when it comes to his defensive plan. He also funds Catholic organizations of his own. He doesn’t focus on just ‘leftist’ and ‘communist’ organizations, he focuses on progressive organizations…whether left or right.
Besides, when it comes down to the end of it all…if Soros’ $7 million to the Tide’s foundation really made an impact to our movement (considering the Tide’s Foundation can cough that kind of money up in a heartbeat with or without the help of Soros), it still doesn’t change my non-racist, non-bigoted views. I know which side I stand on, and I know which side the majority of American’s will stand on. The majority of Americans have morals that appeal more to our movement, and they understand that what we stand for will fix this economy faster than the downward spiral of a plan you guys continuously offer to the table. Even if you call it Koch Brothers funded Tea Party vs. Soros funded OWS, I will stand with OWS til the end. And as 2012 progresses, more of America will join us. You guys had a nice run, but it’s time for you to hang it up.

Millions of Americans don’t live in their mommie’s basement or default on their student loans like you probably did, Justin.

Where did you rip off the long post? You are not intelligent enough to come up with that rubbish of your own volition. Your initiative is limited to stealing your neighbor’s wireless internet signal and whacking off to Daily Kos.

  67. Justin says:
    February 25, 2012 at 6:19 pm

Rob, at least the white people in our grass roots movement don’t criticize gay people, woman’s rights, Immigration rights or label Muslims. Besides, you claim we’re a white movement while at the same time you guys are claiming we are somehow affiliated with radical Islam (Santorum and Beck), where’s the hypocrisy in that? In my opinion, this movement is full of diversity. We are even reaching out to native american communities about their concerns. The Tea Party, and conservatism in general will never get that kind of outpour of sympathy from minorities, because your conservative views do nothing but divide and conquer different cultures.

  68. Justin says:
    February 25, 2012 at 6:27 pm

I see you have reached your ‘last resort’ attacks TexasPharmacist, considering all your doing now is acting like a 15 year old with a bad attitude.

Yea I got the long post from a source, that doesn’t change the fact that it’s politically correct, but your too naive to see any of that.

I have a decent job, a home, a family, and my school loan payments are current (you sound like you didn’t even go to school). In fact, over 70% of OWS has a job, so your generalization of the movement is only fooling the naive, like yourself.

    __________________________

You are the naive one son. The Tea Party movement does not try to break people down and compartmentalize them. The Tea Party movement is about individual freedom and liberty.

I’m sure that you don’t even truly know the meaning of ‘freedom and liberty’.

  70. Justin says:
    February 25, 2012 at 6:43 pm

That’s what were fighting for, but were doing it all encompassingly, because we realize that we are not the only ones fighting for freedom and liberty….everyone is, every culture, every belief. So we believe in working together towards the same common cause, not isolating ourselves to just the white race for the white cause.

  71. TexasPharmacist says:
    February 25, 2012 at 6:50 pm

So you did get the post from a source and did not cite it? That’s called plagiarism, Justin. It hardly points to you having a good education or any sense of ethics. I have a doctoral-level education and have been in practice in a health care profession for over 20 years. You?

You hardly have any standing to disparage anyone’s education, because you have ignored three basic laws of scholarship: a) you plagiarized someone else’s work; b) you dismissed the massive difference in crime rates between the Tea Party events (no arrest citations reported) versus over 3,900 in the OWS movement–statistically that is significant by any test; and c) you cite your own opinions as facts. That is a massive failure on your part.

The OWS movement is overwhelmingly white, middle to upper middle class and reeking of an entitlement attitude. I am an Asian-American who worked his entire life, and quite frankly I could give a rat’s ass what your plagiarizing liberal opinion might me.

Do you really think your Messiah complex would work here? We don’t need yet another liberal martyr troll complaining about how hard life is for people you would not even let near your home, assuming you managed to move out of the tent before the police bulldozed it on orders of the health department.

Keep replying. We love playing with self-righteous liberal trolls like you. You are easy to provoke and even more fun to watch floundering in the wind with pseudointellectual claptrap you plagiarize.

  72. NWMN says:

  75. TexasPharmacist says:
    February 25, 2012 at 7:38 pm

    NWMN:

That’s the kind of correction that is quite okay with me! Wow…over 6,500 arrests? And the Tea Party events still at zero.

Wonder what Justin (“Jayson Blair”), our new resident self-admitted plagiarist troll, will have to say about that.

  76. NWMN says:
    February 25, 2012 at 7:45 pm

I’m still waiting to hear his definition of ‘freedom and liberty’. I know he’ll have to Google his answer.

Justin, you are a liar and a word-thief. You stole an article off the internet that was written by John Atcheson. It was published in February and is posted on a number of websites including commondreams-dot-org. Any section of your diatribe can be checked via a basic search engine.

If you are going to come to WZ and expound on your illustrious visions and ideologies, then use your own words to formulate your own ideas and statements. But do some research and learn what you are actually talking about. Chatty Cathy dolls get nowhere with Conservatives because there is NOTHING to nothing to grasp onto besides the empty words from theorists who expound on lofty ideals that you have no working knowledge of.

Like I said before, THE JIG IS UP.
