U.S. Ambassador To Afghanistan Won’t Rule Out Legal Action Against Troops Who Burned Korans…

I wouldn’t put it past this administration to do something this awful to our troops.

(CNSNews.com) — The U.S. ambassador to Afghanistan has not ruled out military proceedings against U.S. troops involved in the disposal of Qurans by burning them.

“If there are to be proceedings, they are going to be U.S. proceedings under the UCMJ (Uniform Code of Military Justice) — and I don’t think there is any question or doubt on the part of the Afghan government that that is exactly how it’s going to go,” Ryan Crocker told Fox News Wednesday night.

Fox anchor Bret Baier had asked Crocker if Afghan President Hamid Karzai’s call for a public trial had raised some eyebrows at the U.S. Embassy.

As CNSNews.com reported, Karzai went on Afghan television and told his country he had discussed the Quran burning with “jihadi leaders,” scholars and elected officials.

According to a BBC translation of his remarks, Karzai said: “Representing the Afghan nation and their pure sentiments, in fact the Islamic world, once again we call on the U.S. government to bring the perpetrators of the act to justice and put them on trial and punish them.”

If this administration punishes the soldiers, America will punish them.

I can’t believe that our Generals would go along with this.

If Obama tries it, he Presidency will be over.
The American people will not stand for this.

Anyone that works for our goven’t and goes after our troops for this mismanaged fiasco needs to have his political career burned at the stake – and I don’t care which parties are responsible.

now you know what is in the letter that is too damaging to let the American public see.

Obama just turned over US Military servicemen and women to the World Court.

As Commander in Chief he has failed to protect the United States and it’s military and given aid and comfort to the enemy.

    BINGO!

The letter to Karzai was an offer to surrender the soldiers responsible.
THAT’S why we can’t see it.

We must firmly remind the crazy Muslims that these Korans were defaced by Muslims, and we were disposing of them within their accepted protocols. As long as we keep apologizing and bending over, we empower these crazies.

Unfortunately (or calculated) the apologies were an admission that we did something wrong, when we did not. The Muslims who defaced the Korans are the ones to be held accountable.

If our government hangs our troops out to dry for incidents like these, at best morale will plummet to rock bottom, soldiers will never reenlist, and fewer people will enlist in the first place, and the number of forces will shrink. Check.

If our government shafts military retirees, families, and active-duty members with making them pay outrageous increases in healthcare costs, soldiers will…reconsider reenlisting, and seek union DoD jobs instead; leave active-duty before retirement is a consideration and seek jobs with better retirement benefits, leaving a void of senior military leadership; or never enlist in the first place. The number and competency of forces will shrink. Check.

Obama is achieving exactly what he intended. An understaffed military with low morale will be the perfect justification Obama (or other progressive crank) needs to stand up his civilian army which will be just as strong and just as well-equipped as the military. This man is evil.

Obama is about to allow ‘sharia’ law to dictate how US military personnel are treated under ‘questionable’ acts.
This is a disregard for the Geneva and Hauge Conventions, dealing with military/civilian conflicts. Once this is gone, all hell breaks lose.

Remember under ‘sharia’ the non-Muslim is always wrong.

The military better wake up fast.

Any accusation can result in the fortiture of any protections as a United States Military Person, aka the UCMJ.

  23. Rhinestone Suderman says:

If they do something bad to the soldiers for this “crime” against Islam, and we let them get away with this, we will have lost this country.

We will also be opening the door to Shari’a law; if they can enforce it against our soldiers, they will certainly enforce it against us.

  24. hitthedeck says:

In the last ten years our American warriors all have been elevated to super heroes in the eyes of all Americans that love this country. I can not say that for the Americans who do not love this country but love their own selfish methods of power mongering. If this administration proceeds with even of a hint to start criminal proceedings against these American heroes there will be a revote in this nation that will be equal the wrath of God.

  25. Rhinestone Suderman says:
    March 1, 2012 at 2:57 pm

Under American jurisprudence, I don’t see how this even counts as a crime. The Korans were being used to pass messages to the enemy, and inflame them against us. They were, quite properly, disposed of. This was a justifiable military action.

And simply burning, or disrepecting, a Koran isn’t against American law—at least, it hasn’t been, up until now.

If we put the soldiers who did this on trial, we’re announcing, de facto, our submission to Islamic law. We’re also abandoning our country. If this happens, this will no longer be America anymore. America is ruled by the Consitution, not Shari’a law.

It’s shocking that the American Ambassador is actually pushing for a trial—and, if one is held, do you really think the Afghans are going to stay out of it? Or that they won’t riot if any sentence less than beheading is rendered?

Seriously, if I were a soldier, or a military employee, connected in any way with the base where those Korans were found, I would just grab my passport, and get the hell out of there! Fire me, try me for desertion, whatever, fine!

  26. Rhinestone Suderman says:
    March 1, 2012 at 2:59 pm

Seriously: grab your passport, some cash, a car, head for the airport, drive for the border, but get out of there.

  28. Rhinestone Suderman says:
    March 1, 2012 at 3:33 pm

    Whatever, Yodel.

It remains to be seen if anyone’s going to fight this. I’d like to think our soldiers will resist an order to turn over their comrades, or an American worker, if it does come to this—but, who knows?

At any rate, why stick around to be the low-level, expendable scapegoat, who gets handed over to the Afghan mob, so Obama can show the Moslem world how much he cares about them? Honestly, why stick around to continue “nation building” in this hellhole?

(And, without any cannon fodder to make take the blame for this “atrocity”, the bigwigs might just re-think this wholetrial thing, if there’s no one convenient they can pin the blame on; you didn’t think they were going to sacrifice any of the “important” people, did you?)

  29. hitthedeck says:
    March 1, 2012 at 3:35 pm

The progressive politicians have already ordered our warriors to submit to shier law when they ordered them to wear white gloves to handle the Korans they give to the detainees in Gizmo. Our men and women have been reduced to abiding to religious superstition. Maybe they should be ordered to retreat when they see a black cat. Don’t these political correctness idiots realize that the Koran is the instruction book of tactics that directs and orders the Muslims to war against us? This vile book has been the cause of millions of innocent deaths through the decades. This book has two equals, Mein Kamp and the Red Lennon book of communism. I hope our next President has the common sense to put an end to the whims of Idoits.

  30. Rhinestone Suderman says:
    March 1, 2012 at 3:36 pm

Remember, it’s our own Ambassador here, who’s urging this. Not some mad mullah (though they want it too), not some burned-out 60′s radical, or OWSer; the Ambassador. And it sounds like our president approves of this.

The American people may be on the side of the soldiers, but it’s pretty clear the higher-ups aren’t.

I think all the soldiers, and employees, at that base should simply refuse to be scapegoated, one way or another.
