Private equity firms have always been a great boost to failing businesses or those who have potential and may have sufferred some mismanagement problems.

I had a friend who ran a very successful NC machine business shop that garnered several military and aircraft contracts through his business skills. A larger company offered to buy him out and he accepted, but the people they put in simply did not reflect his abilities and the contracts drained away.

Private equity firms take great risks at times trying to turn around businesses. Good and sound management skills in a competitive market are what help to make a company successful. Trying to argue otherwise politically is a foolish endeavor, even Clinton, Hoyer, and a host of other Democrats know that, but our amateur president and his battery of professorial cabinet members and czars are clueless to what makes the market work.
