The Swift Boat Veterans for Truth were telling the truth, whereas the Bain attacks are fabricated. I don’t see any correlation.

Swiftboating was telling the truth about a lying phony fraud who turned his back on his fellow sailors and county.

That’s why I always say military service is a good thing for politiicans. In basic training and in the field, people show their true colors. If a guy’s a backstabbing douchebag it usually comes out in the end. The thing is in the military, it’s hard as hell to steal and backstab without being paid back either directly or indirectly.

The difference is that the swiftboat attack was made by men who served with Kerry. The attack on Romney is driven by the Chicago mafia & the looney Ms. Cutter. Not a single person who has worked with Romney at Bain, the Olympics or even the 80% of MA politicans who worked with Romney when he was governor have accused him of anything bad.

As a spokeman for douchebags everywhere, I take offense.

Douchbags serve a purpose and are not destructive to the nation.

‘Swiftboating’ seems to be a nostalgic re-imagination of the of McCarthyism thing. Ya know, when accurate information is made to look like a witch hunt.

Senator Joe McCarthy was simply repeating the information that had been sent to him by J. Edgar Hoover, which had been intercepted by the then unknown program, the Venona Project. Hoover’s office knew exactly who the ‘Agents of Foreign Governments’ were because they had intercepted and decoded communications between these folks and their Soviet NKVD controllers.

Rather than allow the Communists to know that their cover had been blown, and exactly how the information leaked, J. Edgar Hoover and Joe McCarthy arranged for the Senator to re-discover it through his subsequent investigations.
