Why is it that nearly every question posed to a conservative by the mainstream media is set up to be a “gotcha” question? What happened to well-considered questions designed to gather facts and promote robust, intelligent discussion… you know, “responsible journalism”?

If the mainstream press is trying to compete by being ever-more sensational, with every question designed as a trap to invent the next headline-grabbing scandal, then they are doomed to bankruptcy – they can’t possibly compete with “yellow journalism” outlets on the one side and the plethora of Web 2.0 technologies on the other. (Witness “Newsweek” moving from paper to digital).

I wonder if Mitt knew that question was in the communist media’s arsenal and had a witty answer ready. If it really was off the cuff then it’s a good sign.

Mitt does need to work on his charisma. He’s saying all of the right things about where we need to go in terms of government policy, and he’s correctly pointing out B. Hussein Obama’s multitude of failures, but to be a true success he has to work on “being” the president. A true conservative revolution will happen when we have a president who is not only a true conservative, but can play the part and inspire the American people. Reagan did it. Lincoln did it. In terms of charisma, even Clinton played the part well although he wasn’t a conservative.

If our nation is to survive (and let’s not mince words here — the communists have nearly won; there is precious little time left) — we need competent and *inspirational* leadership.

I hope Mitt will not hesitate using the same lethal wit against Obama in the upcoming 3 debates. From now until election day, he’s got to relentlessy stay on the offense as people like the Obama-fawning Williams try to characterize him in every derogatory way they dream up.
